Corporate Sponsorship and Giving

In an age of TV show auditions and talent spotting, the NSDF recognises that talent, graft and originality are the core values that really drive drama in the UK.  My clients, Doritos, were launching a competition which sought to recruit and inspire the most creative students in the UK, the NSDF was the perfect springboard for their message. (Jenny Sweet, Account Manager AMV.BBDO)

Whether it is about appealing to a student market, thrilling your employees and clients with access to the future of British theatre or underscoring your commitment to the community you should be talking to NSDF.

Our corporate sponsors include sponsors of the festival, NSDF merchandise, NSDF National Workshop programme, NSDF Edinburgh competition all of whom want to reach our young and emerging artists from across the UK.

It might be that you want to support a specific project, some of the extraordinary shows we produce at the festival, which you can bring your clients to watch, or it may be that you want to sponsor a bursary scheme to ensure that more young people can get involved in all the opportunities that NSDF offer.

Spotlight is delighted to be involved with NSDF, and to support an exciting new generation of acting talent. Many of Spotlight's famous members had their first taste of the stage via NSDF; we hope the Festival continues to inspire young actors and look forward to welcoming them into Spotlight in years to come. (Laura Albery, Spotlight)

In return for your support you could receive a combination of the following: Grassroots PR within our student communities across the UK throughout the year and also the vast quantity of professionals who work with us on a daily basis.

Specific product placement - every year in Scarborough we run a Trade Fair for the students and members of the industry where you could promote your company. Logo placement on our flyers and website which are seen by up to 100,000 students every year.

Sponsorship of the festival passes - Each member of NSDF has to wear a festival pass which shows their route through the festival. So rather than being known as the Red, Yellow, Green or Blue Route, one of the routes could be named after your company, which would then be displayed on all of those festival passes and in the programme, the website and in the press.

Wider recognition through the NSDF’s artistic remit and national profile through the national press, including our media sponsor The Sunday Times.

Alignment with our established reputation – through our work across the UK which is socially responsible and ensures that we work with as many culturally diverse young people, aged 16-25 as possible.

Unique hospitality opportunities – come to Scarborough or Edinburgh and see the shows and meet the students and the professionals who are working with them.

The Sunday Times has sponsored the National Student Drama Festival since its inception more than 50 years ago. We hope we will be linked by those young people with a magical and often transforming few days in their lives. Of course many of them go on to be highly influential figures in the dramatic world, from Anthony Sher and John Nettles, to Rik Mayall and Simon Russell Beale, but actually it also feels good for the newspaper to support an event that is such an antidote to jaded cynicism as young people from all over the country come together and bursting with enthusiasm commit themselves to all aspects of theatre. As anyone who has been to the National Student Drama Festival will confirm, it is characterised by youthful energy, optimism, commitment, hard work and fulfilment, and who wouldn't want to be associated with that? (Kathleen Herron, Deputy Managing editor, The Sunday Times)
