How to get involved with Noises Off... Buy a subscription ticket to the NSDF and turn up.Writing for the magazine is easy. You see a play, attend a discussion, chat to someone in the bar about something; feel a burning urge to write it up; write it up, and hand it in. We take literally anything legible on paper into consideration, although it tends to help if it fits under a recognisable journalistic genre: review, comment piece, diary piece, letter, feature, interview, etc.
There are often spare computers in the Noises Off Office (Noffice), which tend to be made available to persistent contributors. We can also offer networking facilities for your own laptop, with varying degrees of success.
The basic point is that you need to attend the festival to write for the magazine. The magazine exists solely as an adjunct to the festival, to discuss in print, and critique the many aspects of festival life: the plays, the workshops, the daily discussions themselves and the many other elements which combine to make the event so vital, and, more broadly, Theatre and the wider culture which surrounds it.
The Noises Off blog is a space to gather reviews of student theatre reviewed by students. It is open to submissions all year-round. www.noisesoffmagazine.blogspot.com
