Travelling To Scarborough

By Car:

The Borough of Scarborough can be reached by road nationally from the A1 or M1 which both run close to Leeds in West Yorkshire.

The A64 from Leeds then runs directly to Scarborough. There are good road links from the A64 to all parts of the Borough, including the A171 Scarborough to Whitby road and the A165 Scarborough to Filey road.  Following the A64 will lead you to the town centre of Scarborough.

By Train:

The Great North Eastern Railway inter-city services run from London and Edinburgh. The Transpennine Express provides the cross-country service from Liverpool and Manchester. The Esk Valley route to Whitby operates via Middlesbrough, whilst the Wolds Coast Line runs from Hull to Filey and Scarborough.

Wherever you are travelling from in the UK travelling by rail you will always travel first to York and then catch a direct train to Scarborough.  York to Scarborough takes 50minutes and trains run from 6.30am to 10pm at night Monday to Saturday and 11.30am-10pm on Sundays.  The service is hourly except at peak travelling times when trains are more frequent.
