We are now welcoming applications for our Festival Managers and the Festival Coordinator, who will help us produce NSDF17.

The Festival dates are 8th to 14th April and the Managers would arrive in Hull with our office team (including the Coordinator) on Wednesday 5th April. You would leave Hull on Saturday 15th April once the final checks and get out is completed.

The Festival Coordinator is a part time paid role, working in our office in London in between January and April, and then attending the Festival in Hull in April. In partnership with the Director, you will be responsible for planning the workshop programme and for liaising with Visiting Artists to arrange their visit to Hull. Further responsibilities are detailed within the Coordinator Recruitment Pack.

We will provide the Coordinator with accommodation, subsistence and transport to and during the Festival. This role would suit someone based in London, as NSDF is unable to contribute to day to day travel costs.

The three Festival Managers are voluntary roles, each leading one of the sub teams within the Management Team. These are:

  1. Workshops
  2. Box Office & Front of House
  3. Venues

Leading into the Festival from late January, the Managers have certain duties – mainly to choose their teams from all the successful Management Team applicants. The Management Team applications deadline is 31st December.

This has to be a collaborative process with applicant’s preferences taken into account and arriving at the best teams possible to help us produce the Festival.

There may be meetings in our London office ahead of the festival (travel provided) and regular updates between the Managers and the Festival office by email and conference call. There will also be a site visit to Hull in February. This will probably be a 2 day trip arriving Hull at lunchtime and departing end of the day on the second day. (Travel and Accommodation provided)

The deadline for applications is December 15th. If you would like to apply, please send a one page CV and a one page covering letter by email to by 5pm on 15th December, including your full contact details. Ideally, these roles will be filled by individuals with prior experience of attending the National Student Drama Festival, although we will consider all applications. As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we are committed to increasing diversity within our organisation and thus would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates.

Interviews will be held, at our office in London, soon after this date: in either mid december, or early January.

Please note that you can apply for both the Manager and Coordinator roles; please indicate which role(s) you are interested in applying for in your covering letter. If you are applying for the role of Coordinator, please complete the Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form found here and include this attached to the email with your application.

If you have any questions about the applications process, please email Joseph at
