Acting through song
Acting is at the centre of Mountview’s approach to performing musical theatre repertoire. Musical Theatre performers must master the challenging craft of acting and do so within a heightened style and complex musical structures.
This workshop explores: making the choice to sing and integrating music and meaning. Participants will work with Merryn Owen (Head of Postgraduate Performance), Director Denzel Wesley-Sanderson and Musical Director Dustin Conrad (both graduates of Mountview’s Postgraduate programmes) and will be introduced to practical techniques that develop connection to meaning, spontaneity and specificity in acting through song.
