NSDF will be back at the Fringe for the tenth year running with our Edinburgh Award!
We’re looking to find the outstanding new production from an emerging company at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in association with Pleasance Theatres. The prize is £500 and a run at Pleasance Theatre, London in the week beginning 28th November with no rental or technical costs and a 70/30 share of box office.
Your production must be brand new – new writing, new devised theatre, a new adaptation or innovative reworking of a film or a play.
We are doing things a little differently this year…
We aim to support ambitious young companies by offering feedback to shortlisted companies, as well as the chance of winning a London showcase.
This year, we're seeing shows based on the strength and relevance of applications.
If your application is successful, we’ll send a member of the NSDF team to see your show. They will then feedback to us, and a shortlist will be made. Those on the shortlist will receive a session of feedback with one of our team.
The shortlist will then be reassessed, and a winner chosen from this pool.
We will announce the winner at an awards ceremony week commencing 15th August – allowing the winning company to use the NSDF Award as part of their marketing campaign for the remainder of the Festival.
How to apply
1) Tell us who you are, why you’re doing the Fringe, and what your future plans are for the show and your company.
(No more than 150 words)
We’ll also need to know the information below. Be as thorough as you can, and make sure to tell us any dates the show won’t be playing.
Website / twitter account:
Email firstname.lastname@example.org by 24th July to be considered. Entries will be assessed based on merit, and suitability for the award and transfer. Unfortunately, we will be unable to see all entered shows.
1) Shows must be running for weeks 1 and 2 of the Fringe for us to see them and week 3 to get the benefit of the Award publicity.
2) Companies must available for the week of 7th November and be willing and able to transfer the show to London, in association with NSDF and The Pleasance.
Please note that the costs of travel and accommodation in London and any associated costs eg: transport of set will be your cost.
3) All members of your company must be between 16 and 25 years old.
