Location: Leicester Adult Education College

What is the difference between a commercial producer and a producer working in the subsidised sector, and do I have to choose between the two? Chief Executive of Curve Chris Stafford and West End Producer Donna Munday come together on a mission to demystify the different roles and explore the ways in which the subsidised and commercial sectors can work collaboratively.

Chris Stafford was appointed CEO of Curve in 2015 and is responsible for leading the theatre with Nikolai Foster. Since he joined Curve in 2013, Chris has overseen over 50 Made at Curve productions and co-productions and steered the theatre’s touring provision and transfers into the West End.

Prior to joining Curve, Chris has held positions at Shakespeare’s Globe, Bristol Old Vic and dreamthinkspeak. He is a Clore Fellow and listed in The Stage 100.

Donna Munday (Chair of NSDF) is a freelance Executive Producer. Her most recent productions include Death of a Salesman (Young Vic) and The Grinning Man (West End). She was Executive Producer for Sonia Friedman Productions; Director of Theatre Production for Working Title Films, and CEO of Sheffield Theatres and Royal & Derngate Theatres.
