Expressive Movement

Location: Studio79

In this workshop you will explore the use of expressive and abstract movement as a tool to build nuanced and detailed psychological characters. The workshop will explore what Jacques Lecoq described as Universal Poetic Awareness. This work centres on the observation and embodiment of life and its movements. By engaging our bodies and creative minds you will discover a new world of passion, emotion, and drama. A creative and practical workshop for actors, directors, and writers.

Michael is the Lead Movement Tutor at ALRA North. He trained at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris (2008-10). He is the co-artistic director of Square Peg Theatre.

Unfortunately Studio79 is not fully accessible (There is no step free access and is up two flights of stairs). This is far from ideal and does not meet our hopes. If you have access requirements and would like to attend this workshop please email [email protected] and we will work our hardest to resolve the situation.
