Finding the Comic Hero

Location: Leicester Adult Education College

Room: 1

The aim of this workshop is to look story and character through a comic lense and show the methods and techniques that make the comic hero different from the dramatic. Bring with you an opening scene from a comic idea they have had, Ash will analyse it with you and how you can discover your comic hero.  Ash will also explore his own methodology and give them an example from his work. Comedy is about many things but being truthful about failing is high among them and we will explore as honestly as possible that thing inside all of us that we might rather play out through drama but lends itself perfectly to the comic journey.
