Impro is easy and anyone can do it

Location: Leicester Adult Education College

Room: 21

Impro is a core skill for all actors, it lies at the heart of what we strive for; being fully in the moment, working as a team, keeping it fresh. In this workshop Oliver Senton (Showstopper!, Slung Low) explores some simple ways of remembering how to play, how to be a bit freer, how not to beat ourselves up about the decisions we make as performers moment to moment. This isn't 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' It isn't about being the quickest, the funniest or the cleverest. It's about discovering how much inspiration is right in front of you when you're not stuck in your own head, and the joy of letting the story control you rather than the other way around. Open to all.

Oliver is a founder member of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical (Olivier Award 2016) and of 'hard bardic' troupe The School of Night. He runs the impro courses at Drama Studio, London. He is an associate of Slung Low, has acted extensively on film and TV, in the West End (Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Mamma Mia!), and for the RSC .
