Making Verbatim Theatre

This workshop will provide you with a tool kit of making political, verbatim work about real life issues in community settings. Through exploring the techniques of practitioners such as Peter Cheeseman, Alecky Blythe and David Hare as well as LUNG’s own practice, these workshops are for anyone interested in getting their teeth stuck into making documentary theatre.

Matt Woodhead is a director/writer & Co-Artistic Director of LUNG. He was a Trainee Director at Leeds Playhouse & Graduated from the National Theatre Studio Director's Course. Selected awards include John Fernald Directors Award, Directors Guild Best Newcomer. 

Helen Monks is a writer/actor & Co-Artistic Director of LUNG. Her most recent acting credits include Susanna Shakspeare in BBC 2's 'Upstart Crow', Amy in BBC 1's 'Election Spy' and Germaine Garry in Channel 4s 'Raised By Wolves'.
