Shake up your speech: Classical Monologues
Location: Sue Townsend Theatre, Upstairs
A rare opportunity to help prepare your audition speeches with Joan Iyiola. With years of stage experience Joan will investigate what makes the speech necessary at this particular moment in the play? How are you changed by the end of the speech? How can you create the specific circumstances if it's just you there? How do you leave those watching wanting more? What does the speech reveal about your possibilities as an actor?
On Tuesday the session will look at ways of approaching complex/heightened classical text, making it live and real, as if spoken for the first time, while using the form of the language. You’ll leave knowing how to opening your hearts to those big actions and taking a risks to be real and poetic.
