NSDF 20: On The Road with Paines Plough: Touring Theatre

Paines Plough are the National Theatre of New Writing. We're best known for our touring theatre ROUNDABOUT, but in 2018 we also set up a Touring Network of 30+ venues across the UK: studio theatres, town halls, social clubs, a record shop on the Isle of Wight... you name it, we've probably been there.

In this workshop we'll be discussing what kind of work we tour and why. We'll be looking into how to book a tour, how to market your play on tour and how to reach new audiences in new places, and we'll de-mystify all the lingo and technical jargon. Hop on board.

In this workshop we'll also be on the look-out for PP Ambassadors to support our regional partner venues with this year's tour - SESSIONS by Ifeyinwa Frederick, a co-production with Soho Theatre.

Christabel Holmes (Visiting Artist) is Associate Producer Paines Plough, having joined as Assistant Producer in January 2019. Prior to this, Christabel spent two years working on West End productions for Playful Productions, Fiery Angel and Seabright Productions. She trained as part of the Stage One Trainee Producer scheme, and was the inaugural recipient of the Clive Wolfe Bursary at the Orange Tree Theatre.

Jo Langdon (Visiting Artist) has been Marketing and Audience Development Officer for Paines Plough since September 2018. Prior to this she worked as a PR Assistant at Mobius Industries. In 2017 she produced THICK SKIN for Poor Michelle Productions, which came to NSDF and went on to be a sold-out Paines Plough LATER in ROUNDABOUT.
