NSDF 20: Producing - Proper Job, honest
"Is there really a proper job which allows me to create work, to make stuff happen, to work with some of the most exciting creatives on the planet, to serve a community, to entertain many many people, and to make money." Yes there is - although the money doesn't grow on trees, "Is there a secret society, or hero's journey I MUST take to become a producer ?" No - you can become one from your own bedroom NOW (and that's rather helpful as we partake in a virtual festival). There are routes to train, to develop, to start making work. This workshop will aim to give an overview, answer some questions, and point you immediately to places you should/could get connected into.
Chris Grady (Visiting Artist) created the MA Creative Producing at Mountview and is currently working to welcome the first cohort at the Royal Conservatoire in Scotland with its MA Creative Producing. Chris leads the Producers' Pool meetings and has variously run theatres, created festivals, and helped make new work happen. Chris works as a business life coach with practitioners across many disciplines.
