NSDF 20: Verbatim Bootcamp

How do you turn the things that people have said into theatre? What are the responsibilities that come with making socially engaged work? Can art be turned into activism & can it have a meaningful impact?

LUNG are Associate Artists at The Lowry. We make work for, by and with different communities. Join Co-Artistic Directors Helen Monks & Matt Woodhead for a verbatim crash course which interrogates some of these questions and explores the different ways to put interviews onto stage.

Matt Woodhead (Visiting Artist) is a director/writer & Co-Artistic Director of LUNG. Training: National Theatre Studio Director's Course.

Helen Monks (Visiting Artist) is a writer/actor & Co-Artistic Director of LUNG. Her most recent acting credits include Susanna Shakspeare in BBC 2's 'Upstart Crow', Amy in BBC 1's 'Election Spy' and Germaine Garry in Channel 4s 'Raised By Wolves'.
