Sarah Nicholson

Chair of the Board

Sarah has worked in theatre for over twenty years and prior to that in advertising, recruitment and publishing. Organisations include the Donmar Warehouse, Sheffield Theatres, Orange Tree Theatre, Gate Theatre and numerous roles at the National Theatre including producing, education, R&D and commercial transfers and touring.

Sarah is currently Chair of the Board for NSDF (National Student Drama Festival) and in 2020 stepped down from the Gate Board having led the HR subcommittee for nearly 3 years.

Sarah is working as Interim Executive Director at the Young Vic until the end of April. Her primary focus is now on individuals who are in leadership or senior management roles for the first time. She works to support people to give them confidence in their leadership style and with specific challenges. She also supports organisations with HR and management and recently completed mediation training.
