Introduction to Viewpoints


The Viewpoints system is a technique for staging theatre and focuses on movement, space and gesture as its primary drivers. This session will introduce you to the foundations of Viewpoint technique and how it can be applied in the making and staging of work. This is a practical and energetic session, so please be prepared to be on your feet and wear clothes/shoes you can move in.


Jen Tang is an award-winning freelance stage director and theatre maker, working across new writing, opera and devised work.  Trained at UEA and Theatre Royal Plymouth where she was resident assistant director for 2013-14, Jennifer has worked with the Young Vic, the Royal Opera House, The Gate, West Yorkshire Playhouse and The RSC.
