What is the 'Not So Typical Project'?
It is an opportunity for young artists with neurodiverse and co-occurring differences to come together and devise a piece of digital theatre, which will be showcased as part of the NSDF HUB.
You can be an actor, musician, physical performer, dancer, visual artist etc. Anyone with a passion for performance and a love of creating new and exciting material. We will work together to create an original performance piece as a brand new company of young artists.
(This will be both a journey for you and for NSDF HUB to go on together. As this style of digital devising is new to us too. So let's create together something that's never been done before!)
This project is open to young people between the ages of 16 -26 that identify as Nerodivergent; Dyslexic, Dyspraxic, ADHD, Autistic etc.
How many people will be a part of it?
We are looking for a group of 10 artists to come together nation wide to create a new company of creatives.
When and how will this project happen?
This project will take place during August and September, over a 8 week period with a commitment of 2 sessions per week via zoom.
These sessions will be on Wednesday and Friday afternoons beginning 11th August 2021.
Your work will be recorded at the end of the 8 week period and presented as part of NSDF HUB.
How do I apply?
We want to hear about you. So tell us about your area of interest: acting, music, physical performing, dancing, visual artists or something else.
Then we'd love for you to tell us what is your super power?
It might be... speaking to plants, loving movies, eating a hole pack of Digestive biscuits in one sitting, whatever it is, we wanna hear about it!
You can answer this question in the form of; a short video, a voice note, creating an image or writing something.
If you chose to make a short video or voice note all we ask is for you to keep it brief - it must be no longer than 1 minute.
And for those who chose to write it, it can only cover one side of A4 paper.
