Glen Walford is an international theatre director. She was Artistic Director of London Bubble (Founder), Chung-Ying Theatre Hong Kong (Founder) and Ludlow Festival Shakespeare. As Artistic Director of Liverpool Everyman she commissioned and directed Willy Russell’s Shirley Valentine and recently directed Meera Syal as Shirley for Menier Chocolate Factory and Trafalgar Studios – winner of Solo Performance at Whatsonstage Awards. She has directed in countries worldwide in ten languages. Most recently Glen directed a new production of Blood Brothers for Shownote in Seoul which will be revived in 2015. She is the Shakespeare Consultant for an upcoming film A Caribbean Dream, a Barbadian update of A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Gale Company of London and Barbados and has run workshops on location in Barbados with local professional actors. In January 2015 she will direct a production for Shochiku Company in Tokyo (Shimbashi Enbujo) and Osaka opening in February. In July, also for Shochiku, she will direct A Picture of Dorian Gray for the New National Theatre in Shinjuku with performances to follow in Osaka and Nagoya. Glen has been judge for NSDF six times.
