What is NSDF LAB?
We are welcoming up to 20 theatre makers (producers, writers, directors, technicians, designers actors, digital content creators and all of the other roles that we don't know about yet) at each venue, to collaborate and develop new work together. You will have a space at either Contact Theatre, Derby Theatre, or Camden People's Theatre once a month to use in whatever way suits you and your fellow collaborators, we will host a monthly online masterclass, where you will get to meet your fellow LAB participants from other venues. Each LAB group will have a slot in NSDF24 to share whatever they have created. It could be a finished show, snippets of works in progress, whatever is useful to you.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for anyone aged 18-26 who wants to make work and collaborate with new people. We don't care about your experience, just your desire to make the new. We are really keen for each LAB group to be a broad mix of disciplines, art forms, backgrounds and experiences. So whether you are a young technician with exciting technical ideas or you are an actor who loves spoken word, we want you to join LAB to experiment and push the boundaries of theatre-making.
Application Process
The application process is simple, just fill out this form with your name, age and location, tell us a bit about yourself and what excites you about making theatre. If that's not right for you, feel free to send us a video of yourself answering the questions.
