How To Save A Rock tried too many things at once for Liam Rees

So you want to tackle climate change?

There’s plenty of things you can do. You can:

Recycle

Refill your water bottle

Go vegetarian

Go vegan

Use a keep cup

Reject the straw

Switch to renewable power

Don’t drive, walk or cycle

Don’t have kids

Write to your MP

Go on the climate strike

Destroy the capitalist system of endless, unsustainable consumption

All of these are great but if you try to do them all at once then you’ll spread yourself too thin.

So you want to make a show about tackling climate change.

There’s plenty of things you can do. You can:

Compile a list of facts and figures

Throw in some visual metaphors

Cover the stage with rubbish

Make a talking puppet out of said rubbish

Do a Theatre-in-Education style presentation

Do some audience interaction

Power the lights with a bike

Send your characters on a wild goose/polar bear chase

Change the plot every 5 minutes

Include your own personal stories

All of these are great but if you try to do them all at once then you’ll spread yourself too thin.
