What was your general feeling about NSDF19?

NSDF 2019 has been one of the most enriching experiences I have had in the last year. Meeting amazing people, exploring pieces of theatre that pushed boundaries, NSDF has been a memorable journey that has given me memories to cherish for a really long time.

What was the week at the Festival like?

On Day 1, I had no idea what to expect. When I got a mail asking if I was okay to be heading workshops, I had no idea what I was signing up for. And, had any one told me that I would have handled 104 workshops by the end of 7 days, I'd have definitely laughed and considered it a joke. What I can say after 7 days of (almost) sleepless nights though, is it was definitely not a joke. One of the essentials that made this journey possible was the tremendous support from the entire management team of NSDF, especially Lizzie, Ellie and James!

Did NSDF Meet your expectations?

NSDF introduces you to the magical world of theatre in such a way that leaves you mesmerised by the drama and the theatrics of the community. It makes this magical realm real and accessible, and motivates you and encourages you to be the best that you can be, allowing you to make mistakes and discover yourself in this world of theatre.

Did the Festival help your development?

Through NSDF, I was fortunate enough to meet several theatre professionals in UK, engage in conversations about theatre in the global context and develop connections that will foster future collaborations. Through NSDF, I also got an opportunity to work with SlungLow, a theatre company specialising in creating theatre in non-theatre spaces. I worked on the Wild Conference produced by SlungLow which was another amazing platform to meet like-minded artists. Working with professionals and working on NSDF has helped me learn a great deal about the systems and functioning of theatre in UK. It has helped me integrate my past experiences and moulded me into a better theatre producer. All I can say is Thank you NSDF for making me a better version of myself.
